Heartburn is so common that many people have it at least a few times a year. It’s a burning and painful feeling in the chest. This happens when the gastric acids leak up from stomach into esophagus and causes irritation. You might feel heartburn only for a few moments or as long as couple of hours. Smoking, drinking, eating certain kinds of food or wearing clothes that are too tight can contribute to the onset of heartburn.
